Was diagnosed with grade A reflux esophagitis after an endoscopy. The ENT just prescribed me 40 mg Esomeprazole and 20 mg Pepcid twice a day for 6 weeks. This a normal prescription for something like this?
She told me I should see a big difference within a month.

2022.01.17 14:19 Affectionate_Bees F 26 Bergen county - Anyone wanna play DnD?

Hey guys! I’m back! So we have a DM and 4 players (including me). There are 2 slots open!
New players welcomed, I can help you make a character and get a basic layout of the game. It can be complicated but it’s nothing you can’t handle if you’re interested. It be neat to become friends and have a long term campaign. For this group I’d ask that you plan to have a couple hours set aside (same time/day weekly) and come with an open mind. We’ll definitely work around scheduling! Experienced players are more than welcomed. We’re set for Thursdays at 8 but it can be flexible.
Let me know if you’d like to play :) the group is using discord atm, but things might change in the future (who said in person? 🤞🏽)
Let’s get this party started! (Haha get it?)

2022.01.17 14:19 hiimdray Immersive playthrough ideas.

I’m officially starting my 2nd playthrough and this time I’m really going to take my time and immerse myself as much as I can.
I have a few rules set up for myself such as
1) act as Arthur would or as a true outlaw would (not going on killing sprees, etc.)
2) hunt only for food I would eat, the gang would eat, or sell to a butcher, and use the pelts for crafting
3) organically attain low honor or high honor
4) eat 2-3 substantial meals a day
5) sleep at night whether at camp, hotel, or setting up a camp in the wilderness
6) change clothes, bathe, keep up with hair as much as possible
7) no horse reviver
Other 3 that I am undecided about.. no dead eye, using health tonics when applicable (after a gunfight/brawl not during it), and no hud/mini map
I would love some more ideas that go along with what I have going already and some input from those that do not use dead eye or no mini map.

2022.01.17 14:19 domyras (Big Americans) pizza dough recipe?

I recently fell in love with the Dr Oetker (brand) Big Americans pizza line,
crispy crust all over, with a thick bottom that is very .. fluffy? airy? (not a deep dish)
and i've been racking my brain for a while trying to figure out how to replicate this myself for Homemade Glorious Pizza's.

Any ideas?
cursory searches yielded no good results.

2022.01.17 14:19 Mister-Walkway Unpopular Opinion: Couch gaming can be just as good as desk gaming

TL;DR: Couch Gaming is best with 3 "modes" - lapdesk mode for first person games, controller mode for 3rd person games, and trackball mode for everything else. With the right seat, screen, and peripherals, it can be just as good as sitting at a desk.
As old school gamer with an emphasis on the "old", I prefer to play from the comfort of my couch or recliner with a totally wireless setup.
I've seen a lot of discussion about how PC gaming from your couch is somehow inferior but I don't agree - with the right gear, there's really little to no difference. I can get an experience very similar to one of those ultra fancy gaming desks, like this monster just by sitting in my recliner and using the right peripherals.
My old guy couch gaming setup (in ridiculous detail):

Now, obviously this is way more than I need for any one game, I just wanted to illustrate all the different stuff I have for different situations - I'm hardly using both a normal and trackball mouse at the same time. I've got a little end table next to my recliner where I store what I'm not using.
Note: "Woah woah wish, you said COUCH gaming, what's with the recliner?!" - I can and do game from my couch, but honestly, I find my recliner to be better for traditional KBM games. The armrests provide good support so I'm not straining my arms to hold them in position. Even using the lap desk, you'll want something under your elbows, else you'll start to feel your muscles cramp up over time from unconsciously holding your arms up a little. It IS entirely possible to stick a pillow under your left arm and use the couch arm on the right to get the same effect (I know because that's what I did pre-recliner), I just find the recliner to be easier (and stupidly comfortable).
As you probably noticed, nearly all of my gear is the Logitech G series. In my opinion, this is more than just a style preference - Razer and Corsair and others make great gear, but the VAST majority of their items require a physical connection, which isn't exactly ideal from a couch unless you're trying to ensnare unwitting passersby in your web of cords. Whatever feelings you might have about Logitech, one thing is indisputable - their proprietary Lightspeed technology means they have the fastest, most reliable wireless gear, hands down. ^(Logitech, send me free stuff!)
The G502 and G915 are both high quality, low complexity. The mouse has a couple of extra (programmable) buttons - just enough to be useful without leading to misclicks. The keyboard is probably my favorite out of all the peripherals - an RGB mechanical keyboard that's wireless is hard to come by, and this one has great battery life, is well made, and it's just a damn delight to use. Bang them both down on a good lap desk and you're just as set as you would be at a regular desk.
Now, the lap desk can be a bit tricky - I tried a bunch of different types, but they were either too high, the wrong shape, or wobbly and insecure. The best solution I've found is to use something (frankly, anything) with a pillowed or padded base. That will allow it to conform to your lap, which will give you the best stability while keeping it comfortably low so your arms can rest naturally, preventing arm or shoulder strain. Ideally, you want something wider than it is deep, so you have enough room for both keyboard and mouse, like this: [[[[[]]]]]
That setup should allow you to play anything KBM, including FPS style games or MMORPGs. But what if you're playing something that doesn't require that level of coordination, that many keys, or a rapid response? Games like Hearthstone, Rimworld, or Loop Hero? Well, in that case, we can simplify the setup by removing the desk and swapping out the mouse for a trackball mouse. The trackball allows you to keep your hand in one place, so you can rest that damn near anywhere, while you can just keep the keyboard loose in your lap. I'll note, however, that many games often require just a couple of keys, like shift, ctrl, or space, and we can basically eliminate the keyboard entirely by binding those keys to buttons on the trackball. The MX Ergo has just two extra buttons plus a focus button, but with remapping we can get as many as 8 buttons out of it - 2 buttons, the "focus" button, middle mouse click, middle mouse left and right, and mouse scroll up and down. If you need to keep scrolling, that's STILL 6 buttons, and THAT'S without even getting into stuff like using keys for modifiers/multiple key combos to open up even more options. You'd be surprised how many games you can play with ease using just the trackball - isolinear RPGs, strategy games with pause, ANYTHING turn based... Basically anything not fast paced or controller centric can likely be played with just your trackball.
Another consideration would be a gaming keypad, like the Razer Tartarus... Except nearly all of them require a physical connection. You can also, of course, still use your keyboard, but if you want something really small for your other hand there aren't really any wireless options... or are there?
Since most games allow remapping anything to essentially any key, all you REALLY need is something small with keys, like saaaaay... a wireless tenkey. Hell, if you get one with a flat base, you can turn it sideways and use the larger "Enter" and "+" keys in place of a space bar and bam - instant wireless gaming keypad. To be fair, this is speculative, as I haven't yet tried it personally, but it's definitely on my list of forthcoming experiments.
I won't bother getting into controller stuff too deeply because there's not much to say - it's the one couch gaming use case that's already accepted. I prefer an Xbox One wireless controller, but it honestly doesn't matter much, as long as the controller you're using is well supported.
For my monitor, I'm using an LG OLED TV, not just because the picture is amazing (it is), but also because it has excellent gaming features - of all the things that make a couch setup work well, I'd say this is the most impactful. Firstly, the size - a large, high resolution screen is important for couch gaming. My face is usually around 5-6 feet from my screen, so 55" is plenty - I can see everything and it's nice and clear, similar to how a reasonably sized monitor would appear close up - if I had a 65", I'd probably need to move back a bit. Having a 4D mount is also nice, since you can make sure you're always looking at it dead on.
Most importantly, the C1 also has a gaming mode which is low latency, supports 120hz, and has built in Gsync support (and/or freesync for all you Radeon gamers). I can agree that not all TVs work well for couch gaming, but LG OLED TVs from at least the last couple of years really do have excellent support for gaming (and really aren't as expensive as you think, especially compared to other mid to high level TVs).
Lastly, there's my comfy recliner, which is like gaming on a cloud. Seriously, this thing is squashy and soft and super comfortable - the only drawback is that you might drift off while waiting for the next round/respawn. Show me the gaming chair that can do THAT.
In all seriousness, the fact that it's a power recliner means I can control the exact level of reclining, and the overall comfort level makes long gaming sessions much more tolerable. Some models even have adjustable head cushions to make sure you always have your head in the optimal position. ^(recliner companies, send me free stuff!)
If, however, you ARE actually gaming from a couch, much of the same comforts still apply, especially with the aforementioned gear. Additionally, you might be able to convince your partner that you're actually hanging out on the couch "together" - honestly, you can probably cuddle up if using just the trackball or controller, and then it's even kinda true! The only really significant difference from recliners is that you may need to stick a pillow under your keyboard elbow in lapdesk mode, as I alluded to earlier.
I genuinely feel I game just as well in my recliner as at a desk - I'd think the only reason it might be tough for others is getting used to it right at the beginning (the change in posture might feel a little weird at first, and trackballs take a little getting used to, for example). At worst, even if you did lose a little performance, I'd say it's negligible when compared to the benefits you gain in comfort.
Note: I am aware of how expensive all this stuff is altogether - one of the upsides of getting old is money, and I prefer to put my money back into the economy rather than hoard it (my retirement plan is dying penniless in the gutter). It also took me a while to gather all this stuff, I'm not suggesting you MUST go buy all of this to have a good couch gaming setup (hell, a single USB hub can reduce the cord problem if you don't want wireless). Kludging what works using only what you have is a traditional part of the couch gaming journey. My first lapdesk was an ottoman lid, and I used a shitty $20 wireless keyboard with a trackpad.
Got your own awesome couch setup? I'd love to hear about it! Hate everything about this post and/or me as a person? Feel free to tell me how stupid and wrong I am!
